MORE THAN YOUR KIDNEYS

We are a nonprofit organization committed to providing a community of hope!

We are a nonprofit organization committed to providing a community of support. CKD individuals are different because we are or were patients too! Not only can our organization relate, but we also understand, because we have literally experienced Chronic Kidney Disease "first hand". More Than Your Kidneys focus is personal, as it seeks to improve the quality of life of those affected by CKD. Current patients make the population, not the majority! We encourage insulation, not isolation!

Though we've only just begun, we have vision!

Personal approach makes the difference!

Be The Change

Kidney disease kills more than 90,000 Americans every year.  31 million adult Americans have Chronic Kidney Disease and 90% don't know it. Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney disease in the U.S. High blood pressure is the second leading cause of kidney disease in the US. African-American, Asians, and Native Americans have a greater risk for CKD. CKD is a n asymptomatic epidemic until the kidneys begin to fail.

Why We Exist

"More an Your Kidneys" is a 501c3 non-profit organization compassionately focused on inspiring and empowering the lives of patients and family members affected by CKD/ESRD/Dialysis/Kidney transplantation. Through health promotion, advocacy, and personal testimonies, we are a community of hope dedicated to helping those affected by the severity of a chronic illness cope and live viable lives.

We Believe

Together, we believe that EVERYONE has power in their being, that there is strength in the power of those individual beings, and that we can ALL learn from the collected strengths, weaknesses and stories of one another. Together we seek to eliminate the stigmas associated with this chronic illness by inspiring people to proactively take control of their lives by becoming an odd-defying exception rather than a predecessor of perils.
